Shelby Navarro, AIA, LEED AP, CDT
Principal / Chief Executive Officer
Shelby founded 1Architecture in 2005 with the intention of producing inspirational architecture that is both sustainable and functional. His professional experience has included internationally known architectural firms in both Denver, Colorado and Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he acquired his experience as a designer and project manager on projects ranging from several thousand to multi-million dollar building and master-planning projects.
As a Native American, he is especially proud of his Tribal work, which holds special meaning for him. He is committed to providing the excellent service that the tribes deserve in the areas of specialization that they require with special sensitivity to the proper expression of cultural significance.
Kevin Hale, AIA, LEED AP
Kevin is a graduate of the School of Architecture at Oklahoma State University and the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Tulsa. Kevin joined 1Architecture in 2008 and has been an integral part of our growth and success over the years working on a wide range of project types and sizes.
Because of his background in fine arts, Kevin is passionate about design. Turns out he loves a good compliance review as well and he can often be found code book in hand – earning him an in house reputation as the go-to when it comes to code issues.
Kevin is one of our best designers and is often asked to lead the effort during Schematic Design. We’re especially proud of his concept work and renderings. See more about his work here.
Melissa Lynn, AIA
Melissa made her way to 1Architecture after working with several other Tulsa based firms. She quickly made herself indispensable with her project management skills and process driven approach to design. She now leads our Healthcare Team and is responsible for some of our largest, most complex projects.
She’s also an animal lover, participating in Paw Pals and foster programs in addition to raising her own fur baby – Hank.
Nick graduated from the University of Oklahoma’s School of Architecture in 2006 and from Tulsa Community College in 2004 – where he was subsequently recognized in 2012 as an Alumni Honoree. He has worked on and managed a wide range of project types and sizes during his career including museums, cultural facilities, healthcare facilities and educational buildings.
If you’ve met Nick, you know that he loves people. In addition to being our unofficial social director, he donates his time to the Tulsa Regional Stem Alliance as a member of their advisory committee. He’s especially proud of his work for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reintegration Program because of the impact the facility will have on its tenants.
Anthony Meave, AIA
In addition to the University of Oklahoma, Anthony is a graduate of the Remaking Cities Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Anthony joined 1Architecture in 2013 after working in the R&D department of a manufacturing corporation and traveling his native Oaxaca, Mexico to explore the rich native traditions of community living and social equality.
Anthony pairs his background in set design with his upbringing in two distinct cultures to accentuate the concepts of duality and drama in everyday life and in the built environment. See some examples of how he integrates these concepts in architectural practice here.
